The problem
Podcasters, creators and students often record long audio with long pauses. Trimming them by hand is slow, and many online tools mean uploading a private recording. Cutting every pause also makes speech sound unnatural.
Our decisions
Process audio on the device
Audio stays on the phone and core processing works offline. Internet may only be needed for ads.
Keep some silence on purpose
A “Keep silence” control sets how much pause stays around speech, so edits still sound natural.
Show the result before saving
People can preview the audio and compare the before and after length, then save or share it.
What we built
- Silence detection and removal with adjustable padding
- Support for common formats including MP3, M4A and WAV, with export as M4A
- Built-in player and before and after duration comparison
- Save to Music, share, and a Recents list for past exports
Where it is now
This is our newest app. Recent updates made audio processing fully offline, fixed crashes on long recordings, and improved layouts for small screens, landscape and tablets.
